3. Keep It Between Us

Nicki waited until she saw Drake's car drive away then she closed the front door and locked it.

"Drake isn't staying for dinner?" Micaiah walked up to Nicki.

"No, he's got homework to do." Nicki responded.

"Dinner's ready" Carol shouted.

The family stopped whatever they were doing and walked into the dining room. They sat in their usual place around the table; Robert at the top, Jelani to the right of Robert with Micaiah next to him and opposite them was Nicki & Carol.

"So how's school?" Robert asked.

"Good actually" Nicki replied.

"Fun" Micaiah answered.

"Aight" Jelani said as he shoved some more food in his mouth.

"That's good" Robert smiled.

When everyone had finished eating, Nicki helped her mother clear up. "So Nika, what's going on with you and Drake?"

"What do you mean?" Nicki began to push in all the chairs.

"You two still best friends or...?"

"Yes but or what?"

"Never mind. You can go to your room, I'll finish up here"

"Okay" Nicki shook her head and made her way upstairs.

It was late Sunday night, Nicki had just finished her homework and was on a 3 way call with TT, Candi and Lauren.

"Okay, tell us exactly what happened!" TT said.

"I don't know why y'all are so bothered but.. When he came over we had a little catch up and-" Nicki started.

"Did you tell him about the note?" Candi interrupted.

"Yes if you must know! As I was saying so we had a little.."

"What did he say about it?" Lauren asked.

"Nothing much and stop interrupting me!"

"Woah, alright!" Candi and Lauren replied.

"Back to tell us what went down" TT said.

Nicki rolled her eyes "We caught up, watched TV and fell asleep. Yesterday we had breakfast, went to the cinema and picked up Caiah then he went home."

"So nothing happened?" Candi said with a hint of annoyance.

"No... Why would something happen?"

"Cause you know Drake..." Candi's voice began to fade out.

"Know that Drake what?" Nicki asked clearly lost in confusion.

"It doesn't matter Nic" Candi said.

"No I want to know" Nicki slightly shouted.

"Candice come here please!" Candi's mum shouted in the background. Thank God for that. "I've got to go"

"Candice!" Nicki demanded.

"Byeeeeee" Candi sang out.

"Tyesha, do you know what she was going to say?"

Shit. "She was going to say that..." TT's phone cut off.

"Lauren?"

"Oh my, it's almost 10pm. I'm tired, night!" Lauren said in one breath.

Them little.. Ergh. Nicki thought as she ended the call. After putting her homework in her bag, she grabbed her towel and proceeded to the bathroom to get a shower.

I want to know what they know. Nicki thought as she stepped into the shower.

Especially as it's to do with Drake. She poured her favourite soap onto her pink bath sponge and began to wash herself.

Should I ask Drake? No that would be awkward. Imagine it 'hey Drake, what do my friends know about you that I don't?'. I need to sleep. She rinsed all the soap off her body.

Nicki turned off the shower and dried herself with her towel. She walked into her bedroom and moisturised her skin, put on her pajamas then climbed into bed.

Too much light in this window, don't wake me up. Only coffee no sugar, inside my cup... 

Nicki groaned as her alarm tone went off. She lazily rolled over and turned it off. It's too early for this shit.

"Onika, you up?" Robert shouted.

"Yes dad!" 

Nicki climbed out of bed and let out a rather loud screech as she stretched. After showering and getting dressed, Nicki made her way downstairs.

"Good morning!" Nicki smiled.

"Good morning" Carol placed 5 plates that contained a fried egg, 2 slices of toasts and a side of baked beans.

"Morning" Jelani replied.

"G'morning Nicki" Micaiah said.

Everyone went to sit around the table, once everyone was seated they began to pray.

"Amen" 

After Nicki ate a majority of her breakfast, she grabbed her belongings. "Well it's time to go! Bye!" 

"Bye!" The rest of the family replied.

Nicki waited outside her house for TT to pull up. Her and the girls went to school together in TT's car.

Nicki was scrolling through her phone when TT beeped.

"HEY GIRL!" TT said full of cheer.

"Hey" Nicki replied, she was still annoyed about the day before.

"What's up with her?" Candi whispered to Lauren.

"I have no idea"

Nicki didn't talk throughout the journey to school, she stayed on her phone.

"We're here!" Candi shouted. Nicki huffed and climbed out.

Once TT locked the car, the girls began the walk to the school entrance. Nicki walked in front of them to avoid them talking to her. When they were inside the building, she walked straight to her homeroom.

"She's definitely annoyed. What did you guys do?" Candi asked.

"Me please, you're the one who brought up the Drake thing" TT said. Lauren nodded in agreement.

"Ergh, whatever! Who's that putting something into Nicki's locker?"

The girls turned around and saw a nerdy boy standing outside Nicki's locker.

"Stop there!" The boy looked at the girls and began to run away. 



I had a bit of writer's block with this story. Sorry if it was crap and short :/

2. Waking Up To Reality

"I did sent that note"

"You did?"

"Of course I did. I've slowly been falling for you for a while now"

"You have?"

"Yeah, I didn't know how to tell you so I wrote you that letter"

"It was so beautiful"

"Not as beautiful as you"

He grabbed her chin and placed a light kiss on her lips.

Nicki woke up with a start and looked around her bedroom.

Damn it was only a dream.

She lied back down and stared at Drake's sleeping face. He had his lips slightly parted and was snoring. Nicki began to trace random patterns on his face.

"Good morning to you too"

"Huh?" Nicki jumped and moved her hand.

Drake smiled at her.

"Oh good morning. You hungry?"

"A little"

"Right well after we get dressed we can eat breakfast"

Nicki got out bed first and grabbed two towels from the bottom of her wardrobe. She threw one of them at Drake's face then sprinted to her en-suite bathroom. Almost 30 minutes later both of them were showered and dressed and making their way downstairs to have breakfast.

"So what do you want for breakfast?"

"I don't know, surprise me" Drake walked into the living room to watch TV.

Hmm.. What could I make? I've got it.

"Aubbie, breakfast!"

Drake walked in to the kitchen was surprised to see two plates with 6 pancakes each with a side of turkey bacon.

"Maple syrup?" Nicki asked, making Drake stop dribbling.

"Yes please" Drake smiled.

She went to the cupboard to get the maple syrup and gave it to Drake. They walked over to the table and chatted through mouthfuls of food.

"So where is everyone?"

"Mum's at work, Caiah's at playgroup, Dad's at work and Jay is somewhere"

"Oh okay"

Drake watched Nicki as she ate her last pancake, some syrup dribbled down her face. He used his thumb to wipe it away. She smiled at him. 

"Thank you"

"You're welcome"

Once they both had finished eating, Nicki put the dishes in the dishwasher and then went to sit on the couch with Drake.

"I'm so bored, what do you want to do?"

"Swimming?"

"Hell no, I don't want to get my hair wet" Nicki twiddled with her hair and bit her lip.

"Hmm.. Watch TV and chill?"

"We do that all the time" Nicki sighed.

"Got it! Cinema, have lunch and the arcade?"

"Perfect! I'll go grab our coats" She ran upstairs to her room and grabbed their coats then raced back downstairs.

"Thanks" Drake said as he put on his coat.

"You're welcome, are you driving?"

"I guess so"

"I left my phone upstairs, you can go in the car!" Nicki shouted as she ran back up the stairs.

Drake went to his car and waited for Nicki. Meanwhile in the house, Nicki was just about to walk out the door when she received a text.

* Have to work till 3pm today, could you pick up your brother from playgroup?

* Yeah, what time?

* At 1:30pm.

* Okay :)

Drake honked the car horn. Nicki quickly grabbed her purse and locked the front door.

"You took your time" Drake said as he started the engine and drove down the road.

"Whatever, we have to pick up Caiah at 1:30"

"Alright, what film we watching?"

"Pitch perfect"

"Cool" They drove in comfortable silence for the rest of the journey.

"I'll park the car, you get the tickets" Nicki hopped out of the car and walked towards the cinema entrance.

Why can't people park properly these days? Drake thought as he circled the parking lot.

Finally! Drake found a nice parking space, parked his car and made his way to the cinema.

"2 tickets for pitch perfect please"

"Okay" 

"Here's your tickets, enjoy the movie!" Nicki smiled and took the tickets.

Where is Drake? Ergh.

Drake walked through the main door.

"I'm here!"

"Good, want some popcorn?"

"If you're offering to pay for it"

Nicki rolled her eyes "Fine"

They grabbed their popcorn and went into their screening. Almost 2 hours later, the film ended and Nicki & Drake were  sat in his car, talking about the movie.

"That film was hilarious! Especially when that fat Amy was hit with that burrito! I cried"

"When that Asian girl was singing and they had to zoom in so you could hear her" Drake laughed.

"I was so glad we missed the adverts, they bore me to death"

"I know!"

"What time is it?"

"1:40pm"

"Shit! Caiah!" Nicki shouted.

Drake got out of the parking lot as fast as he could and sped down to the playgroup centre. Nicki raced inside the centre and saw Micaiah sat colouring.

"Aww I'm so sorry Caiah" Nicki said as she hugged her little brother.

"It's okay" Micaiah smiled. "I got to do extra colouring"

"That's good, well go get your belongings and we can get going"

Micaiah happily went to grab his coat and bag-pack.

"Can you help me please?" He said struggling to put on his coat.

"Here you go lambchop" 

"Thank you" After he put on his bag-pack, he waved goodbye and grabbed Nicki's hand. They walked over to the car.

"Hi Drake" Micaiah said as he put on his seatbelt.

"Hey buddy, have fun?" 

"Yep, lots"

"That's good"

They drove in silence until Nicki turned on the radio.

Ain't nobody fresher than my, my clique, clique...

"Clique" Nicki sang along.

"Clique" Drake said, nodding his head.

"Clique" Micaiah rapped, looking out the window.

Nicki turned the radio down a bit and burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" Drake asked.

"Didn't you hear Caiah rapping along?" Nicki was now holding her stomach laughing.

"You know this song?" Drake asked Micaiah.

"Yeah, I heard it before" Micaiah replied in a cutesy voice.

"Your little brother has so much swag for a 3 year old"

"Boy bye"

"Nicki, I'm hungry"

"Do you want a McDonald's?"

"Yes please!" Micaiah smiled.

Drake drove to McDonald's. Nicki ordered 2 big mac meals for her and Drake and a happy meal with chicken nuggets for Micaiah. 

"Should we get some ketchup?"

"Just get a few tomato ones"

"Here's your meals and your drinks"

"Can I have some tomato ketchup please?"

"Thanks" Nicki smiled. She gave everyone their meal with a sachet of tomato ketchup.

"Thank you" Drake and Micaiah said unanimously.

"You're welcome"

They began to eat while Drake drove back to Nicki's house. He pulled up and walked them in.

"You're not staying?"

"Nah, got homework to do"

"Aww, well I'll see you later" Nicki gave him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Yeah" Drake said as he was released from the hug.

"Bye! Take care!" Drake shouted to the household and walked back to his car.

This is going to be harder than I thought. 

1. First Letter

Zoning out what her history teacher was telling her, Nicki began to doodle in her notebook until she heard the school bell ring.

“Remember, your homework is due on Tuesday. Have a good weekend!” Mrs. Stevens shouted then smiled at the students are they raced out the classroom. She turned to face the white board and wipe off all of that lessons work.

“Nicki, hurry up!” Nicki’s best friend TT shouted. Nicki, TT, Candi and Lauren have been best friends since they were little and have been for almost 10 years. Now they're all in 11th grade together and unstoppable.

Nicki quickly wrote herself a reminder to do her homework in her planner then grabbed her belongings off her desk and put them in her bag.

“I’m coming!” She quickly zipped up her bag and raced out the door. 

“Thank God it’s Friday. This week has been so stressful” Lauren opened her locker and fixed her hair in her mirror.

“Tell me about it, I've got 2 assignments to do in English Literature” Nicki complained, grabbing her maths book out of her locker.

“Something just fell out your locker!” Candi shouted.

Nicki looked down and saw an envelope that said ‘Nicki  ❤ ’. She bent down and picked it up.

“Oooh what is it?” 

“I have no idea”

She ripped open the envelope and read the note inside,

Just a little note to make you feel better :)

You are perfect. Everything about you is beautiful. Your appearance, your heart, your soul, all of it. And I’m so glad that I get to be around it. Love, A <3

“That is mad cute, who’s it from?”

“I don’t know it just says, love A”

“Ooh Nicki has a secret admirer!”

“Shut up TT!”

"What does the A stand for? Does it stand for anonymous?" Lauren urged, reading the letter again through her mind.

Nicki turned around and saw the popular group of boys talking. One of the boys, Jason turned around and winked at her.

“Yo! Did Jason just wink at you?” Lauren said in a loud whisper, spazzing out.

“I think so” Nicki said blushing.

“Did he send that note or whatever?”

“Nah, he wouldn’t.. would he?”

The bell for the next lesson rang.

“Go ask him.”

“I can’t. He’s popular and I’m just average. It’s a big social no no”

“We’ll talk later! I’ve got to get to science before Mr. Cranky Pants gives me a detention”

“Haha, bye”

The girls all went to their next lesson.

Can’t believe Jason has a crush on me. Jason Davis has a crush on me.

During her maths lesson, all Nicki could think about was that little letter and Jason.

"Onika!" Mr Parkinson shouted, snapping Nicki back into reality.

"Huh?"

"Tell me what is x if 5x+3x=24"

Shit. "Umm.. 3"

"That is correct but please pay attention!" Mr Parkinson stared at her for a while before looking away and continuing the lesson.

Before Nicki knew it, it was the end of the school day so she could finally talk to her girls.

"I can't stop thinking about that note" 

"It was so romantic, I wish some creep would put notes in my locker" TT said, acting like she was sad.

"Oh shut up and do you want me to tell Jerome that you don't want him anymore?!"

"Girl don't you dare! You know how much I love him"

"Anyways.. I'm going to see Drake. I'll see you later"

Drake was Nicki's best friend, his mother and her mother were best friends when they were younger. They  practically grew up together, Drake went to different school so they could only see each other 4 times a week. The only difference between them was that Drake was extremely popular at his school, he knew everyone and everyone knew him even if you went to a different school.

"Nikaaaaaaaa!" 

"Aubbieeeeeee" 

"I've missed you so much" Drake said as he hugged her and inhaled her scent.

"I've missed you too"

"So tell me what's been happening at school and that?" They walked over to the couch and sat down.

"Oh nothing much but the strangest thing happened today"

"Ooh! Spill"

"So I went to my locker and some note fell out"

"A normal note or...?"

"I guess it was love note. I can't remember exactly what it said but it said something about me being beautiful and how they're glad they get to be around me"

"Aww do you know who sent them?"

"Not exactly but you know that guy I always tell you about Jason?"

"Yeah, you talk about him non stop"

"Whatever but I think he sent me it cause he winked at me when we saw each other"

"That doesn't.."

"Doesn't what?"

"Never mind"

"Anyways yeah. It was so cute though, I'm going to stick it on my wall"

"Oh alright!"

Drake and Nicki spent the next 2 hours watching TV and socialising.

"Nicki I'm home!" Nicki's mum, Carol said as she locked the front door.

"Jelani, take Micaiah and put him in his bed" 

Carol walked into the living room and saw Nicki & Drake cuddled up on the couch fast asleep. Aww look at the little cutie pies.

"Nicki" Mama Carol said shaking Nicki slightly.

"Huh?"

"You and Drake go up to your room"

Nicki woke up Drake and they both went to her room.

"Drake, are you staying over?"

"Yep! Just for you"

"Good!" Nicki smiled wide.

They spent the rest of the day, catching up and talking about old memories.

Introduction.

This is my first official story I'm writing and yes it's a Dricki story. I came up with the idea and I'd thought I'd try writing a complete story on it. I'm not sure how many chapters it will have but I'm sure it'll be more than 10. I'll post the first chapter as soon as possible :)
